Use this to your advantage, look for heavier styles if you are looking to fill a large room and vice versa, and be aware of the impact the showroom has on the look of the sofa, in general showrooms will be very open and have high ceilings, making all sofas look smaller than they are.
The most important factor to take into consideration is the size of the sofa and the space you have available for it in your living room or the area where it would be standing, especially the width and the depth. Start by measuring the room and remember to also measure the doorframes and staircases your sofa should fit through when you bring your sofa home.
